so i bought a supercharer kit a while back and wanted to shake it down for a coulple of months before posting anything about my ride so i could answer any questions honestly people may have that are interested in supercharging there ride. bc if this thing was a giant turd or self destructed the first couple times i thrashed it, i would be the first to tell you not to waste your money............
ill start by breaking down whati have in my ride. mpi supercharger, there complete kit, cdi, fuel pump, reg, intercooler and so on. basicaly the same kit you could buy used for less than 1k sometimes. i have a cp low comp piston, cometic head gasket, arp head studs, arp jug studs, stock rod, stock crank, ported head, stock cam, stock exhaust, muk hsr45 carb, the carb is the key to crisp throttle, JBS sheeve, had 16g greasless rollers but went back with 13g stock rollers, just trying them bc i had to change the spring from a blue w/white stripe epi to the white epi spring.
the
rhino runs perfect, no shit, it really does, watch the video, theres no dead spots, misses or spudders at any rpm or throttle position. the vid is when i had the old spring, the motor reved way to fast and blew through the spring, it now accerlates much better, pulls stronger with less stall. its faster than my buddies rzr-s by a good bit, but i havent raced a 900, im sure the rzr is faster, i know so top speed. right now im just trying to get the speed up around the 60mph mark. it hits the rev limiter around 57. dont get me wrong though, the speedo may be off , it doesnt keep up very well. the
rhino acceleraes very well, like i said it blows a rzr-s away, just doesnt have the top speed yet. im still shaking it down and need to mess with clutch weights to get the speed up.
i will say i am very happy with the build, it doesnt seem like or sound like its running on the ragged edge all the time. it runs like a fast stock
rhino with a wicked sound, if you ask me this is how it should have run from the factory!!!! im going to post in the clutch section about clutching to get the speed up, but any advice or ideas are welcome. this supercharger was the best bang for the buck when it came to making power for the best price in my opinion. i have thrashed this thing and rode it hard with no problems over the past 6 mo.
heres a link to a couple of vids, the
rhino sounds wicked and people look at you crazy when you ride by its that loud, hope you enjoy
