PostSubject: Re: jmp30s Rhino    Sun May 12, 2013 12:18 pm

Allthough common of how most people do their winch switch location I wanted to share what I discovered with mine. I ordered the winch which does not come with a rocker swicth like I have mounted. I ordered a rocker switch for a 4500S and figured I could use it on the 3500s. Well I found out the wiring harnesses are different so after some help from Matt at ATV Outfitters and two Warn reps...I got my wiring that I needed. No the only issue is that the handhelp corded remote that comes with the 3500 will not work on the 4500 switch. Two vary similar sizes but off just enought that it will not work. I I still need a handheld remote for a 4500S. I left plenty of room to mount my GPS and my Aux. lights that I wnat to mount onto the front bumper.

So here is my newest modifiation. I really wanted one of these aluminum boxes but could never stomach paying $500 for one. I found this one on Ebay last week for $205 shipped. I felt like it was a good deal even though it was used. Can't bet over 50% Off. Anyways I got everything mounted up and a new lock installed on it. Odometer is only at 41 miles as of today.

Just flipped 100 miles! To many baseball and soccer games with my kids for a big ride this year. Time for an oil change though. I tossed around many different brands of oil and I think I am just gonna run Yamalube with the OEM filter.

Man, I bought mine a month after you did and I have almost 1300 miles on mine.  As far as oil and filters go I run Yamalube and OEM filter on mine.

Well the oil change as been completed and went as smooth as planned. I am going to stick with the OEM filter and Yamalube. I have ran it before in my 660 and 700 Grizzly's without a hiccup so I feel pretty confident I will be OK running it in the Rhino. To my surprise the oil was actually cleaner than what I expected just because it was the original factory break in oil. I forgot to put rags under the filter so some of the oil made a mess on the frame. No biggie but I knew better.

Today, I ordered my new tires and wheels from ATV Outfitters. Anyways, I anticipate they will be here by the end of the week (fingers crossed) just in time for a trip to Ride Royal Blue in a couple of weeks. Pictures of the new shoes are coming once they show up.

I'll post some pictures when they get here.

October 6, 2013

After some looking and debating I purchased a new set of wheels and tires for the Rhino. Every time I get a new machine that has stock wheels and tires on it, I always tell myself that "those will be fine". Much like I did when I bought the Rhino. Well that didn't last even six months. In preparation for the Rhinos first trip to RRB, I picked these up. 27x9x14 and 27x11x14 ITP Blackwater Evolution's mounted on 14 inch ITP 212's. I really like the black 212 wheels and think its probably the best looking wheel for camo. Anyways, I got these installed and went for a quick ride at the creek nearby. We had 3.75 inches of rain so the creek was flooded out. From the time I spent on the soft sand and rocks nearby, these seem to ride rather smooth and there is no lack of traction. The Rhino had no issues turning these in high or low gear and I did not see that much of a drop in power like I anticipated. Here is a quick shot I took during the rain.
