PostSubject: I won....but i didnt know what i won   Mon Nov 11, 2013 7:41 am

Last Thursday I got a phone call and it goes like this
Caller - "Hi, Is this Chad?"
Me - "Yes that's me"
Caller - "This is (whoever) with the FOP (fraternal order of police) and you wont that gun."
Me - "gun...what gun?"
Caller - "the raffle you signed up for with the gun."
Me - "oooh ok....great!"
Caller - "can you come pick it up tomorrow?"

So we sort out the details of what time and where i will pick it up.  But me being the dummy I am I didn't remember WHAT KIND of gun I had singed up for.  I didn't want to seem like an idiot so i just let it roll and figured it would be a surprise tomorrow and i would find out what kind of gun i got when i went to pick it up.  Lets be honest...any gun is a good gun especially if its free!  So i get to the gun store to pick up my prize and start to fill out all of the paperwork for a background check still not knowing what i was getting.  Finally i couldn't take it anymore so i asked the old guy behind the gun counter "what gun did i actually win anyway?".  He tells me and pulls out a Ruger 44mag bolt action rifle with a Burris scope.  Nice gun for deer hunting here in Indiana, but i don't hunt (don't have time).  So I asked the guy if they would trade it for something else they had on the shelf?  The agreed and after a few minuets i walked out with a Rossi 357 lever action and some ammo and reloading supplies.  Here is a picture of what it looks like (although the one picture is in 45lc but they look identical).  I haven't really got to shoot it much but I think it will be a ton of fun....and its a free gun!

That is a good day and a good rifle!  Are you old enough to remember when Chuck Conners gave up on a basketball career and went into acting?

I am a Marlin fan have 2 each 30/30 and 35 they are just some of my collection. I like them in thick brush, if you miss you can good old Kentucky windage by watching the trees or whatever you hit.

 Awesome
