| Ok, if you know your light works in the cluster, wiring is good to gear position switch, well here you go. Take off gear position switch, be very careful as it will break (I know from 1st hand experience and more than likely made mine work) I guess the plastic/polymer gets brittle with heat cycles. After mine broke I just gently pulled on wiring from switch. A very easy fix, if switch is not bad inside and that would likely be easy also. Hardest past would be melting whatever it is on the back side. The smallest contact is for the N circuit, clean to you see it shine and test. I coated the o-ring with dielectric grease and also connector. Basically completing the circuit. Notice the largest is for H ligh. Bam Bam N light is glowing green, assuming you have your linkage adjusted correctly. Little chit like this, which may seem trivial to some, I have to have working. Hope it helps and some may already know... | |

| If you are looking over top of engine, it is to the right and below reverse connector. Basically on the other side of where the linkage attaches. Remove air box and it is very easy to see and get to. I should have taken pics, when I tear into sheaves and all that, I will post. Going riding. Holla! | |

That is a great pix of the innards of the switch itself. Pretty cheap looking contraption. It sort of looks like everything needs to be flush and the contacts clean. One way to do that is to tape a sheet of very fine sandpaper to a flat surface with the gritty side up. I use a fairly big piece of glass as that flat surface. You will want to clean off any soft and/or oily residue on the switch. Then you can push that switch around in a figure 8 pattern to even up the plastic and the metal. I suppose this is the 'redneck machine shop' approach. Actually, machinists use this trick on a granite surface plate to get their parts very smooth and flat, without resorting to an expensive surface grinding machine. Thanks for sharing your findings. | |

| It is on the drivers side, just for correction. I took it off again and did a better job cleaning it. Adjusted linkage and it works a lot better. Linkage adjustment is important, IMO. | |
