Finally got time to work on the Rhino, figured that box of go fast from JBS had sat on the shelf way too long. Dropped in the MSD charge last weekend. It got 50 MPH and ran out of steam. Today I installed the Sheave, now it runs up to 53 and just as it hits 54, it cuts out. Is that the rev limiter? I am currently running 25 inch car tires that are noticeably heaver than the stock ones. Other than the sheave and MSD charge it is a stock 07 660. If I ran a taller tire, could I get a higher top speed?

like firefighter said if you got the horsepower, but generally the bigger the tires the more weight and slower you go

I tore into it again today. All the weights seem to setting in there the way they were supposed to (kind of ramping up to the side with the grooves at the center)seems like the belt is traveling fine (starts out a little out of the secondary and runs up to where it is a little out of the primary. I have not finished buttoning it up today. Yesterday when I test drove it, the performance was good. I spent a lot of time spinning the tires and it ran right up to 53MPH, but when it tried to go past that it cut out seemed a lot like it used to (before the MSD) when I'd hit 40MPH. From what I have read it should be pretty hard to reach the rev limiter without more mods.

What top speed is your msd box set at? I installed mine and took off it hit rev limiter at 27 mph. Hooked it up to computer and realized it was set for kph not mph. Set it up right and hit 59 with no prob

Hmmm, it is just the MSD charge add-on for the 660. I don't think it has a top speed setting...

Thanks Firefighter! Looks like everything is working just right then. I am loving the new hotrod sheave. I think the tires have spun more in the last 24 hours then the previous 6 years! Dare I ask about the 2013 improvement in the sheave? PS: big thanks to James and JBS for making my Rhino fly!

Yep, sounds like You got it running good !
The 2013 Sheave is machined just a little different. It allows a 700 camplate to set tighter against the weights and allows more for wear of parts without loosing performance or the need for replacement.
