| Took a trip to WV last weekend and a couple times that I stopped I could smell rear end fluid. Once I got home and cleaned it up I can see where it is leaking. It is a 2006 660 and the leak is just in front of the rotor. It is not between the pinion bearing housing and the case but on the driveshaft side of the rotor. I assume the oil seal is leaking and letting fluid run through the splines on the pinion and out at the nut. Now trying to decide to start taking apart tomorrow or wait until after the Tn trip and take plenty of fluid to top off. I know that could be a thousand dollar mistake!! | |

| I found the post from Firefighter. My leak is not as bad as his picture. I have the seal but not the damper. I will pull it apart tomorrow and if the damper has come apart I will be calling James Monday morning. | |

| Got everything apart!! It was the nut on the end of the pinion that was loose and alloying fluid to run through the splines. The seal was not letting fluid out. I have had a rear end brace on for 3500+ miles but both drive side mounts were broken. They broke with the brace or before the brace!! | |

| Ordered parts from James on Monday morning and they showed up today (Wednesday). I was hoping for Thursday and figuring on Friday. He must have brought them to the NC state line and then handed them over to UPS!! Hope to get the mounts welded up tomorrow night!! Then all back together Friday night. This work thing gets in the way!! | |

That is a job that I am glad is done. Pulled it out of the shop at midnight last night and we were 630 miles from home by this afternoon ready to ride!! | |
