I'm a Lineman for Verizon , I've been there 25 yrs this mo. Here is a pic from this morning.

I'm also a lineman. I work power lines though. Been doing it for 30 years & still have all my fingers. Tired of climbing poles but ya gotta have lights. I usually work 12,200 volts but I have worked as much as 35,000 volts with rubber gloves. Gotta watch every move ya make.

20 years as a Fireman and 25 years runing a small ATV/UTV repair shop. worked on PWC's also, but I try to aviod them now.

33 years with Canadian National Railway.I drive a truck with a 200 HI_AB crane hauling rail and ties,It also travels on the rails.one and a half years to go, then freedom 55.

I am an ordained Lutheran pastor serving a small congregation in a small town. Been clergy for about 5 years.

Before seminary, I was a mechanic's helper at a natural gas fired power plant. I grew up on a small ranch working on equipment.

Cool thread. I like reading about what all you guys do for a living.

worked roofing then new construction plumbing and have been a "temp" at usps since 06... now under new contract we "temps" are taking a 6 dollar an hour cut in pay... so keeping my eyes open for a better career cause 6 days a week for 6+ years to take a hit like that as a thank you for busting your arse is crap.... they are going to drown in their own stagnant cesspool of bullshit..... sorry for the rant im a mailman... affraid
