| Just thought I would share this story. Don't forget to think for a minute, and check the little things if you have trouble.
I was riding alone Monday through a really tight trail deep in the woods in the middle of nowhere. Something caught my eye, it was my temp warning light. I shut it down and felt the engine cover, and it didn't seem to hot. Turned the switch on and raised the hood, and figured out the fan wasn't working. I looked it over good, and didn't see anything wrong. Pulled the fuse with the switch still in the on position, it was good. Put it back in and heard a clunk when it made connection, like the fan was hitting something. Reaching in where I couldn't really see, I found a stick the size of the tube in a ink pen. Pulled it out, pulled the fuse again, and re-installed...fixed. I can't believe that little thing kept the fan from starting. It somehow got up in there from the back side. Just thought I would share this so you know to look for the stupid stuff if your fan quits. I looked at it from all angles and didn't see it in there. | |

| It really got me to thinking about how pathetic that idiot light really is, and how not noticing it can mean big problems. I was going slow in some real technical trails and got the thought in my head that something wasn't right, but I didn't know why at the time. I guess I was used to hearing the fan kicking on alot when going that slow. I didn't even realize that was what got me thinking until I seen the light. IDK how long the light was on, but I ran the hell out of it for 40 miles after that happend with no trouble. I guess I'm OK. Never had that happen before. Only time I ever seen a temp light was due to a clogged radiator on a 650 prairie. It's easy to get caught up in the fun and not check the guages enough. I need to run hard like Hot Rod so I get enough airflow that I don't even need a fan. | |

| I'm a firm believer that everyone needs to install a temp gauge in these. That light is to damn small and easily not noticed. | |

| I couldn't believe how small the limb was. It was about 3" long and not even 1/16" thick. Must have been wedged in there just right. I have never got anything caught in a fan like that till now. I will have some guages in there soon. | |
