getting ready to get tack for the ride, is the Equus 8068 the one some are using on the 660 . when I went to order
 it said that it could be set for 4-6-8 cylinders. so not sure if it will work or not .

some guys have luck with it, but I could not get it to work. James tried 2 or 3 tach with no luck

Same tach as I have...works great...I think you set it up as a 2 cylinder to get the rpms to match up,but I have been running this same tach for 2 years and no problems!!it comes with a connection that hooks up to the spark plug wire.

You could go with a  Trail Tech computer that has a tach and more

Seems like when we discussed this before, that tach works on the 660's but not the 700's

mine works great on my 660 most issues seem to be with the 700's

On the 660's it also depends on the CDI you have also!!

wont work with msd,other than that I think it will work with any,i have the dynatek programmable cdi.the 8068 tach comes with a inductive pick up that goes around your spark plug wire.hope this helps

It won't work with James's buddy's CDI (Hunterworks). It has been 5-6 years since I was trying to get one to work.
