Any of you seen these? My buddy just bought one and we took it out for a test run last night. It has a 3cyl car motor in the rear. Same motor they use in the Fiat 500 and the John Deer RSX. It's a 5 speed manual tranny and it absolutely rips!!! I was shocked when I got in it and tore thru the gears. Top speed is listed at 65 but we hit 77 on the street....ohhh did I mention that it's road legal in 49 states? Well kind of...in Maine you can only register it as a 'low speed vehicle' and they come from the factory governed at 25mph???? What a joke.

I'm pretty impressed with it so far. It's a little wide but we put it thru hell last night and it stood tall.
Full metal body, safety glass windshield with wipers and washer, blinkers, power brakes, full locking front and rear diff, easily access the motor, full size alternator, high intake, decent clearance, hand E-brake (fun!!), and it hauls ass!!

"an Official GM Licensed Product" must be the chinese company that bought the Hummer. could be wrong, but i don't think they would last long in the woods.

They make a turbo kit for them that puts it at 101hp! I've also seen a lift kit and a hard top. The aftermarket support is pretty nonexistent but if you look hard enough you can find some stuff.
You have to get a bit creative with the motor. There is quite a bit of parts and mods available if you understand the motor was used in many vehicles overseas and a few here in the U.S. and all those parts are interchangeable...or so I've read.
I'll keep you guys updated on how this thing holds up. We pound the shit out of our machines so we'll definitely put it to the test.

I thought the same thing when I first saw it....Chinese company that would close shop in a year.
It's a US company owned by two guys that owned a couple body shops. Yes they have outsourced parts to China but hell so does Ford. The final assembly is done in New Mexico.

Couple videos of it in action from today. The camera doesn't really show how steep and wet the trail was on the first video. I was pretty impressed....granted I flew up it in the Rhino and had enough time to get out, walk down to where he was stuck and guide him thru. The driver is pretty bad...stalled at least 50 times trying to get thru this trail.
The second video was a pretty deep mud hole that I thought for sure would get the best of him...as you can see, no problem.

To each is own buddy....I think it looks fucking bad ass. Everyone that sees it loves it. I'm by no means in love with it but after seeing it in action and driving it...it's certainly growing on me. The 3cyl manual 5 speed is a pretty unique option in a UTV. Super fun to drive.
It also has some flaws. There is zero leg room even for me and I'm a borderline midget. A manual transmission is a blast to drive but also a hindrance and fatiguing on technical trails...especially for someone that isn't very good with a clutch. It's a little too wide at about 62". The all metal body is once again a plus and minus. We put a nice dent in the rocker panel pulling this move with his but was no sweat for the Rhino....
