| Just hit my second buck in my neighborhood one with truck and now one with the car not 10 minutes ago, windshield, lights broken and coffee spilled all over no one hurt. I saw the first buck then the second hit him he flew over the car, a truck stopped I could see him on the shoulder struggling when I got close he tried to stand, he got up then ran towards me off balance and I could see that half his leg was cut off. He them jumped the guard rail hit a fence then came back across the highway and disappeared in the dark. Have any of you guys had this happen. I drive in the country and bush and have hit two deer in my own neighborhood! | |

| I thought about going after him with my machete but a truck stopped behind and in Quebec you can't keep the deer if you hit it, that sucks! You just don't know where they will jump out of there everywhere, except when I am hunting I often see sweet f- all. Thanks for your good wishes guys. | |

| glad it didn't come through the windshield and no injury. Sucks about hitting deer and not getting to keep the meat. it's the same around here. I've also hit several this year too. 6 to be exact. hit 3 with the same little pickup:( . its been in the body shop more than its been driving this year. the other three were in 2 different trucks, but the winches and bumpers blocked all body damage. | |

| No orchards around really. That's farther west. Or just north of Spokane. We are pretty dry here not a ton of rain. Most of our moisture comes in snow. But the mountains start pretty close and have the river and canyons. You definitely don't get tired at looking at the area everyday. | |

| Thanks I love it here. And curious fawns crack me up. Do the bears screw with the camera a lot or do they usually just go for the feed? Round here the cougars and bears are getting thick. I have a game cam pic of 5 cougars in it. Wish we could use dogs to hunt the hunt the stupid things. But the west side of the state gets to control everything. | |

| Yes the the bears are a pain with the camera or anything with human scent. I have not seen any sign of a cougar, but the wolves and coyotes are plentiful hear, three years ago I even saw an elk, he hung around tearing up the bush for four days and all the dear disappeared for most of the season. | |

| So do you get a bear every year? the bears here don't screw with much besides the feeders if they aren't hung properly. I take it the elk population isn't real big around there?
after we got wolves reintroduced our coyote population has dwindled. the wolf pressure on them is incredible. had 7 coyotes on the road that wouldn't leave it. they ran right next to the pickup and wouldn't go farther than the ditch on either side. shined the spot light off the side of the road and could see several sets of eyes off the road about 50 yards, couldn't make out what they were for positive, but it was more of a big dog like silhouette. | |

| No I did't hunt seriously for bear I bought a tag just in case I saw one, they tore up my blind last year so i have a new one. Only ever seen the one elk and there are not many moose hear either, but lots of does, coyotes and turkeys and a few wolf hybrids. I have been told we have the largest coyotes on average around here,60-70 lbs is common. I love to hear the wolves are pounding the coyotes. | |
