| I cashed in a few reward points online. Here's a new Rhino 700 wet clutch and drum and one-way bearing. When I put my wet clutch slugs in about 500 miles ago I noticed my original wet clutch was somewhat worn. I thought it would be a great chance to test out the slugs for my own use. If I like the slugs, I would add them whenever I replaced the wet clutch in the future. If I didn't like them, I would not use them on the new wet clutch. I am adding the wet clutch slugs to the new wet clutch. I'll be doing the wet clutch, a new drum (housing), and a new one-way bearing. Yes, I also got the gasket... lol! Is there any thing else I'll need before tackling this project? I have had the wet clutch out before to do the slugs, but I that was it. It seems like I remember the wet clutch nut is reverse thread on my Rhino 700. Any other advice is appreciated. Thanks, Chris | |

| Thanks! I just wanted to be sure there wasn't some obscure o-ring, cir-clip, or oil seal I might need. I will be sure to have a few suds in the 'fridge. | |

| I am in the middle of a write up. I am kinda dragging my feet on purpose to see what happens with the upcoming forum move. I don't want to write it all up and then we have to start all over. lol I'm lazy like that Anyway, here's a couple of pics to tide you over. Step by step of the slug process coming up... of course using the lazy method: KMS slugs. You could use lead if you have a good scale and are able to sneak a spoon past the spouse. Behind this door, the prize awaits Old vs New James had me all skeert. They say a badly worn wet clutch can begin breaking apart and dumping the friction material in the engine oil. Do you know how much trouble I'd be in with the Mrs. if I destroy my build 734cc motor? I don't even want to think about that. The drum doesn't just fall off the cover. Neither does the needle bearing. Or the oil seal. Or the roller bearing. My patience was wearing thin. Wet Clutch Good Times! | |

| Slugging the wet clutch, in just a few words, involves adding a few grams of weight to the wet clutch shoes. The added weight increases the clutches' clamping force against the drum. The clutch slips less, and this means better power to the wheels and longer clutch life. This mod is especially helpful on rigs with larger tires and/or higher HP motors. | |

| ChrisH, you mentioned the one-way bearing in your post. My 06 Kodiak "releases" sometimes when going down a hill. Give it a small shot of gas and it will re-engage. Is it the one-way bearing in the wet clutch that is causing me the problem? Thanks, Nick | |
