| Thought my bike was just leaking from rear output shaft, changed seal, went for a ride and when I stopped had a puddle of oil. After further inspection it is the where the crankcase comes together on the bottom opposite the cylinder head. I have never really built or been in this type of engine. My question would be, "Is this something that I could do myself or should I let someone else do it?" | |

| It is coming where the two halves come together. Specifically right behind where the m6 bolt is on the bottom. | |

| The water pump is further back, this is the most forward part of the engine at the bottom. I have a 700 which may be different then the 660. I'm pretty sure it is the crankcase halves which according to James is sealed with yamabond. Guess the question now is do I have the guts to tear into it myself. I have the service manual but was wondering about any special tools, should I go ahead and change all bearings, new oil seals, piston rings? Figure if I have to go in may as well do it all. Also was wondering about upgrading does it give you any advantage on the trail or are the upgrades mainly for speed? | |

| Got all the parts from James to start, no mods other than reverse gear upgrade. Suppose to be 10 to 12 hours. I'll let you know how it goes, considering this is my first time in one of these engines. | |

| So here is where I got to, the AC magneto rotor. I was using a puller but it seemed to have a lot more resistance than I would think. Is this normal, or is there something else I must remove to get it off? | |
