| Well as I'm putting my Rhino back together I snapped a bolt. It's the bottom left one that holds the cage on over the sheave. My question is how critical is it? The other 3 are just fine. Can I leave it as is or should I try to get it out. It looks like it will be a pain!

| It probably isn't tight...I would try to get it out , so it doesn't vibrate out on it's own...and...really mess stuff up. | |

| The cage is tight And the snapped off part is in pretty far. I just over-torqued it.

| James,
Does the dowel make a difference?

| Ok all,
Upon further closer examination this thing is going to suck trying to get out. I have tried to drill it without any success. The way it snapped its tough to get a punch on it. How bad will my problems be if I leave it off?

| It's doweled so up and down movement or "lateral" is taken care of. The clutch isn't going to walk out of the case. Run it!!

| If the bolt didn't bottom out in the hole, only the head tightened up against the bearing cage. I would think it should come out fairly easy. Did you pull the dowel and try to remove it? If your going to leave it in make sure you put some silicone on the broken bolt to prevent it from vibrating out and doing a lot of damage. | |

| FWIW, I was able to remove the broken bolt using one of these nifty gadgets. I use the 3/16" size. I couldn't find one in metric. The nice thing is it slid right into the recessed hole that the bolt broke off in. Steve | |

| That bolt was bouncing around in my belt cover when I pulled it apart to service the sheave. Lucky it didn't trash something. | |
