| I need some ideas about how to safely remove the nut that holds the secondary sheave and fan on the shaft. I was trying to remove it, and the nut rounded off. Is there any way to remove that 22mm nut? | |

| Can you say more? I am deathly afraid of damaging that shaft. Isn't that the transmission input shaft? If you fubar those threads, it could be a nightmare. | |

| I cut within a pussy hair of the threads(I was scared too) and it came right off. it was a pain in the ass but thats what James and I came up with. for some reason it happens alot to the secondary nut. if you do hit the threads you could always use a die to clean it up | |

| Thanks! I thought if having a drink to steady my hands and then carefully cutting that biotch off with my dremel. I guess this also means I will need a new nut.
James, you got one in stock?

| I was going to put those anti-friction washers in. I've had them forever and was going in there to inspect and clean things up. I'm also going to mess with my wet clutch. But no dice this time! LoL | |

I need to figure out this exact measurement. How close is that to the threads? Maybe I'll go check...

| Could you grind two of the sides of the nut flat to fit a cresant wrench and get it off instead of having to cut it off? Or maybe grind each flat side of the nut to clean up the corners and drop your socket size buy one? | |

| Thanks for all the replies. I've removed the primary nut numerous times and the secondary nut a hand full of times. There has never been an issue. Oh well.
I talked to James and he said to try a chisel and heavy hammer. You gotta be careful of those threads. At least this nut is fairly accessible. I have some ideas now on how to remove the stubborn nut.
James has me a new one on the way.

| Chris, were you using a 6-point socket or 12-point? a 6-point would provide a more secure grip i've rounded off a few myself with 12-points. | |
