| I'm looking into buying a 3" long travel. I want it for a lift though. Has anyone tried this yet? I'm considering this to add articulation and try to get 4" of lift without putting the axles in a major angle.
Reason for this is everyone's 6" lifts break. But the long travel kits are made of better material and offer them in a plus/minus offset back and forward which helps clear bigger tires. So I'm looking to try this and build custom lift brackets to make it adjustable and try different things. I mean if rzr xp's pass everywhere I know I can too.

| Eric, this is what I would do if I could do it all over again. I'd buy a nice 3" mid-travel and then do a CFM or RDC lift on top of that.
I have the 3" CATVOS and Walker Evans Racing shocks. It is nice, it articulates way better than when it had stock shocks and a CFM lift. But sometimes I wish I had a little more width. Plus, for the money I have in my setup, I think doing the +3" mid travel would yield better results in handling and tire clearance.
You definitely got my attention with this topic.

| Yes. We been kicking this idea around lately. The mid travel kits are made from chromoly. Which is 1000% better than Dom tubing. And most come +1 forward and -1 in the rear. Will help lots for bigger tires. I'm going to call around today and see if I can't get a custom set made somewheres to go plus 1 forward. If not, I'll have to pull my terminators off. They rubbing way to hard. | |

| I don't know everyone thinks a +3 or +6 LT is too wide. I have a +6 and it is only 62" wide. Like Eric said the XP's go everywhere. If a jeep can fit, I can too. I also have 13.5" of clearance. The kit made the rhino alot easier to drive and alot more fun...IMO | |

The problem with wide when you get into the east and midwest is trails get TIGHT. I am dead serious when i sway yours would NOT make it through some of my trails. I would love to have some wider suspension ...but honestly some of the places i ride now im scrubbing the body so to push any wider would limit the places i go.

| out west most of the trails are open dezert and the mountains trails are old mining roads and fire roads. So rhino really allow you to go places other can't? Perfect! | |

| Got to realize one thing guys. When you lift the rhino with lift kits, you can actually bring the tires in a bit. So, with a custom lift kit, I can get the tires in an inch and that is a lot when you talking wheel width.
I am 57" end to end right now. +3 on each side (mid travel) would put me at 63" at stock height. I'm Looking for at least 4-5" of lift with lift brackets. So I'm hoping to get back to 60"-61" wide.

| here in pa where i ride there are places that are tight for my rhino but if i stop and look there are ways around those tight places. little by little the trails are getting better. in 07 when i got my rhino man i was leaving blue on trees all over the place but with the sxs world growing its getting better. plus what also helps is in areas i ride alot if i get into a tight place i make it wider problem solved. there is a LT kit in my future. | |

| I'm am right now at. 57" with 1" spacers in the rear. So stock width would be 57" in the front and 55" in the rear. I added to spacers to equal out the rear to the front. So adding 3" on each side would put me at 63".
Hope that explains it. But I know i started this thread but I have another one about tire rubbing the inner fender hard. This were its all coming from. But I did find someone to build me a set of plus forward a arms for the front. Going to order them soon.

| Have another question. If I was to build or get built a set of +2 a arms wider on each side, will the +3 axles work in there? I'm trying to stay as tight as possible. I know I'm putting to much thought into this but if I decide to pull the trigger on this, I want it right. | |

| I think you would put new a-arms on , with the stub shafts in place then measure for your axle length ,again I think . You could contact gorilla an see what they say ,maybe some one else has had axles made up | |

| Yes. Still trying to contacting other people to get more information. It's just hard getting people on the phone. Gorilla axles aren't an option. In my opinion they suck. I contacted Rhino axle the other day and like usual, waiting on a return call. It's getting close to me just saying the hell with it and building it myself. I have the knowledge just not the time. Lol. Like most of us. | |

| No. Still debating on my options. Have the rhino for sale at a high price. If it sells, then no telling what I'll have in my shop. She's just a good machine, almost to good to let go. Bit, the money pot gotta stop | |

| did this ever go anywhere. i am looking at lifting my rhino a little to fit 27s or 28s. i will be doing mostly slow trail riding over very rocky terrain so i don't really want to go any wider but i also dont want to break axles every time i ride and a little articulation would be nice. | |

i have +6 but im 72" wide in the rear and 15" clearance in the rear and 14" in front. the trails get tight around my neck of the woods, bc they used to be atv trails but the sxs's are widening them out. if not out comes the chainsaw are I make a new trail. but I agree with JP does make it easier to drive.

| I HAVE more clearance with my two inch lift and my 29.5's. I simple two inch lift will not put your axles in any stress. 28's will fit on a none lifted rhino. Might rub a bit on the inner fender when turning but they will fit. I have the sport shocks on mine. 2" lift in front with the shocks turned half way and no lift in the rear with the shocks turned all the way up. | |

| i have the resi shocks as well with not hardly any preload right now. i guess that a 2" lift is how i need to go. does the lift take away much suspension travel. | |
