| Ok so I am sick of that fan always being plugged with debris and getting the ducting knocked off behind the seat, so I want to remove it.
So what exactly do I need to remove to get rid of it? everything associated with the fan? or just the impeller itself?
Also how about the ducting for it, can I get rid of that also?
Thanks! | |

| Took me about 10minutes to take mine off, from what I've read it's suppose to keep the exhaust bracket cool. So far I haven't noticed any side effects. | |

So what parts exactly did u take off, the whole fan housing on that side? Or just the fan blade itself? Did you leave any of the duct work to it in tact still?

| The housing, fan and hose.. You could install the housing back on as there is moving parts just hanging out down there, But theres nothing around to get caught up in it. I think the housing and fan had 4 bolts apiece my hose was just hanging out. | |

| FYI, you'll melt the rubber mount on your exhaust the first ride out and be dealing with a rattling exhaust. It's the one thing I wish I didn't do to my 660...I can't seem to get the friggin thing to not rattle loose every other trip. | |

I had a similar problem, I made my own mount up front and added a second one at the rear of the muffler with a rubber pad under it. No more problems. It's worth not having that fan down there. I also took a gear lube bottle cut off and siliconed it to the side of the engine to cover up the rotating piece because I got a seal leak from junk getting wrapped in there.
