| Teddy, the 450 Rhino is a beast. It needs no modifications whatsoever other than the JBS sheave. but seriously, he should ride it the way it is and see what the seat of his pants tells him first. | |

| [img] [/img][img] [/img][img] [/img]T Rhino: Was out yesterday trail scout and took a ridge straight up from 7100' to 8600', The only issue the 450 had was on descending and the fuel pump wasn't push enough fuel into the carb and the Rhino wanted to keep dying, so there was the need to throttle up the engine even thou all I needed was 4x4 disc brakes. Not sure, but maybe an upgrade on the fuel pump if you do much of that type of riding. JBS sheave is a must in my arsenal. Here is a couple pics from the top of the ridge, see the elk in the one pic? | |

| [img] [/img] This is why I went with a 3" lift on my Rhino. Haven't had any problems with axles, cv's, ect. | |

| Sheave, blue spring, rejet the carb for top performance and CDI. That's about all you can get out of her without cam and piston. | |

| Teddy, I re-jetted when I opened up the air intake and added a exhaust tip. Jet size will depend on his bike. Borrow James' A/F meter and you can get it tuned in pretty good, you'll need to weld a bung on the exhaust. After I was done with mine, it'll hold 42 - 43 mph on the flats and hit 46 down hill. Love what it did for it. | |

| Don't go crazy on the tire size. JBS sheave changes everything about it. The blue spring is a must, it adds a little help to get the tires turning from a stop in mud, over rocks, trees, etc. It also helps it get out of the turns a little quicker. Would like to have drove mine with 25s and a set of factory sport wheels after the sheave and spring, because the 26s and itp wheels killed it. I did the sheave after the tire/wheel swap. | |

| I always heard that the 450 was the toughest engine Yamaha ever made. I believe that. I held mine wide open all day long for countless days. Ran it do hard it didn't want to run right a couple of times. Ate so much dust the filter clogged and the engine wouldn't even try to start once. It never used any oil, and never let me down other than it didn't want to run if the tailpipe was under water. LOL That 450 and JBS are the reasons I own what I do now. | |
