| I noticed while hunting down a fuel leak that when revving my rhino in neutral from idle up to, i dunno... pretty high, that it seems to shake quite a bit at low-mid and mid-high and make a knocking noise every few seconds. kinda sounds like from the clutch area, but who knows the damn thing is so loud. the shake is, kinda all over the place, even a little side to side.
i've ridden thumpers all my life, and i know this is a big one, so i figure it's pretty normal. all my engine mounts are good and it has never been apart so there shouldn't be any mis-aligned counterbalance etc assemblies. runs, rides, peels out in gravel, etc everything great.
my raptor engine was solid mounted, so i never noticed if the engine shook a lot... now that i have a rubbery rhino i just need a little reassurance, is that normal??? | |

| I don't have any big thumps if I rev it up and hold it, but I do have lots of vibrations when I do it. Hear some rattling in the clutch area also, but nothing when in gear with a load on it. This rhino, the 450 I had, and the 07 grizzly I used to own thrashed and banged like hell until the engine was really warm and I put a few miles on them. All kinda rattled and vibrated if I reved up and held it at just about any rpm. If you don't have something going on while riding it, I wouldn't worry to much about it. I was hearing vibrations in mine that made me think I had valve noise, clutch noise, or maybe a sheave nut came loose. Rode it with the windshield and rear dust guard off and it's so quiet I can't believe it. Sounds like I'm at idle when I'm getting it down the road at 45. Wouldn't hurt to pull the cover and check it out just to be sure though. | |
