| I'm with you Brian. Was out and found myself in a slop hole that had hard high walls and the 450 didn't seem to have enough power/clutch to spin itself up and out. Got out but took more effort than I expected. I have notice the same issue rock crawling went you get wedge against a vertical pull on the tire. I've been able to bump it and keep climbing but sometimes don't want the bounce just the torque to make the pull. | |

| ok....so i slugged my wet clutch last nite with 3.5 g of lead. Took for a short ride and can see some improvement on takeoff, but my down hill when off the gas doesnt slow down as good as before.....yes i did put a new one way bearing in and double checked its going the right direction It doesnt freewheel, but does roll faster than before...any thoughts? I got to go back in and change out the oil seal, seems i pushed it in too far and now paranoid it might start leaking..... | |

| 6-7 grams normally go into the 660-700 clutches, I don't know how it has changed your engine braking, maybe something on the sheave surfaces or belt wear? | |

| Brian, where did you come up with the 3.5gr weight? Is there a chart for recommended slugging weight? | |

| spoke with James and he said the 450 wet clutch is smaller than the 660,700. He recommended 3.0-3.5g | |

| Ok maybe this is why my down hill breaking is a little less with slugged clutch down hill slow, let off throttle factory wet clutch disengages, one way bearing kicks in down hill slow, let off throttle slugged wet clutch takes longer to disengage, one way finally kicks in. Just a thought.... | |

| Hey Brian, After a couple weeks with the clutch slugged what's your thought on the 450 slugged? Worth doing it or not? | |

That makes sense I didn't know there was a size difference. | |

| Kenny, if your bike is due an oil cjange then go ahead and slug your clutch. It has improved my take off a little. If your drum and wet clutch are not worn then all you need is some lead(melted wheel weight) and a new gasket. You can change the one way bearing if you have high miles or you think it might be bad. My new one way has gotten better, i guess it just needed to be run after initial install. | |

| Yip, mine is done for a service if I can ever get it off the mountain; snow was still to deep last weekend to even try and drive it out. | |
