| Ok I just installed a hot rod sheave 14g weights and orange spring. Before this I tore apart the primary clutch cause I had no bottom end power and it would only do 40 mph and to no surprise I needed an entire new primary set up. I have a brp cdi , mudbuster cam, and 26 inch tires. I have been letting my dad use it for the last three years and now I am going through it fixing things he didn't. The problem isn't my sheave cause its new and installed correctly. But im only getting up to 45 mph with all my mods. Its not hitting the rev limiter and it had a rebuild at 250 hrs and now has 500 hrs. Could this be a cdi problem, possibly my valves they haven't been ran in three years. Could it be a wet clutch although since the sheave install it got its bottom end back but I didn't install a new belt cause it measured 31mm. Any help would be greatly appreciated . | |

| either weights flipped or wet clutch is my opinion.... id check the clutch again and make sure the weights are right.. I know mine wouldn't hit but 38 mph when the weights were flipped.. | |

| i had one flip on me when i first put my jbs sheave in an it still had strong bottom end but would only do 38-40 flat out. so i would double check the weights imo. | |

| Been watching this thread..KSrhino,s problem sounds like mine 2004 660, only a couple differences..mine has 16 grwts (stock tires) JBS .. no rebuild on the motor .. it still doesn,t have a 1000 miles on it..most likely 500 miles.. have new dynatek cdi,1 1/2" exhaust tip into a Benz silencer muffler ..also a frt snorkel 3"..James had me remove the snorkel & Benz..lost 0.5 with Benz & about 0.7 on the snokel..doesn,t cut out or anything just runs out of power..tomorrow ( monday 10/28) checking to make sure throttle opens all the way and checking the slide..has new 700 belt/ 700 camplatefuel filter/plug/ clean uni-filter/ fuel lines good..keep the ideas coming..looking for a good book or something for the carb..Danny | |

| Well I have adjusted valves tore apart my sheave and flipped one weight back over but who ever said it that affected the bottom end. Now I got it to 54 but the damn thing took forever to get there, but I have been suggested to check my diaphragm in the carb and check my jets cause I have a back fire through the carb and this person thinks I may have a hole in it. So if anyone knows a good carb rebuild kit I would appreciate it. | |

| don't take this the wrong way but its a rhino. Its not going to zip on up to top speed quickly. Shes a cruiser not a speed demon... Im glad you found your issue in the clutch. When mine was flipped, I had good low end, but no top end as well... hope you get it back together soon | |

| tore the JBS sheave apart again 10/26 sat, everything was good, so desided to check on the orange spring install by the dealer..spring was binding ( not super bad but it was their) also wanted to check the grease, good thing I did,it was never serviced when they did the spring.. so tryed it again on the 1/3 mile , this time got up to 48 mph..wondering now if the rear window kit is acting like a parachute? KSRHINO : check "jetsrus.com" on carb jets/diaphams & rebuild kits.. sunday I did the "redneck footwarmer" on the rhino using the heat from the radiator ducted into the cab..works good..drove it for about 30 minutes climbing etc..no over heating issues..but come warmer weather will have to disconnect it..Danny | |

| KSrhino :on the collar..from James vid on servicing the secondary..all his vids are great !...... Rhino727 I think its doing ok..esp considering its only about a 1/3 of a mile & all the drag..the low and mid-range pulls really strong..once it hits about 45 mph doesn,t pull as strong..thinking on a longer run may get up to low 50's..thanks everyone for your help & suggestions..Danny | |

| Ksrhino, also besure to install the anti-fricton washers too (james has them )..and take the time to make sure the spring doesn't bind..I can take sheave apart blind folded now,lol..make sure you use the grease thats in the tube ( james too) not the tubb on the collar on both the pri & secondary..Danny | |

| put your spring in the cup an turn it if its binding you'll feel it grab if so sand/file just the edge of spring that touches the cub, again James has excellent video on this check it out on utube good luck | |
