| Pretty simple. Lights and power are connected to key switch. Volts is connected to primary battery and temp is connected to sending unit I installed in the radiator hose | |

| firefighter what type of gauges are they brand and auto or marine? did you just use some pipe fitting for temp t for water? I have been thinking of a triple set with oil pressure as well i was planning on using the 6mm bolt or t in to the feed pipe. | |

| Just some cheap auto type from local parts store. And yes, I went to hardware store and put together some fitting.
I did look for gauges I could easily match for future gauges.

| I dont, but if some one doesnt chime in, start a new thread for oil pressure gauge. I need to do one, but dont really have a place for it.
Temp gauge was a real eye opener ! Glad I got it. Temp light doesnt come on till about 260.

Temp gauge was a real eye opener ! Glad I got it. Temp light doesnt come on till about 260. I agree the water temp was an eye opener. You should check out what oil temps run. I added a oil temp gauge, personally the pressure doesn't concern me as much as the temp does. As far as a sensor location, their are several options. If your basically stock, just drill and tap one of the cooler line Banjo bolts. If you have a remote oil filter adapter it may have a port for a sender, if not drill and tap it. If you have braided hoses with AN fittings you can just add a tee and install the needed fitting.

| I used a painless wiring harness and a grounding block. nothing is tied into factory wiring.

| I love the way a Rhino's dash just utterly and completely changes with a set of gauges. It's super easy to do on a Rhino, too. Here's my latest gauge and switch pic that I have. I used the Livorsi gauges from Black Rhino but I don't like them all that much. The water temp gauge has some fogging going on. It drives me nuts! LoL I recently ordered a set of Gaffrig marine gauges that have the 270 degree sweep needles. They also have a glass bezel instead of the plastic bezel like my current gauges. I went a little OCD on my accessory wiring, too. I purchased one of the Painless wiring blocks that has one always hot circuit and two switched hot circuits. I made my own custom harness and nothing is run off the stock wiring at all. It took me like two weeks of wiring and installing for my accessories. I just didn't want to have any electrical problems down the road. So far so good. Here is a shot of behind my switch and gauge panel. Here you can see the fuse block: The water temp sending unit. I put the sender on the driver side hose on my Rhino 700. It is the hot side (water coming out of the motor) Battery box after some tidying up. After this pic was taken I did upgrade the winch wiring to 4AWG cable. My 5000lb Viper Max needs more juice than that wire could deliver. My suggestion is to take your time putting in the electrical accessories and NEVER ground anything to the chassis. The stock wiring is good for the stock Rhino and that's it. Lots of people have messed up and melted wires by grounding to the frame. | |
