Explain in simple terms just what does changing the sheave, going greaseless, or whatever else my options are? I have read so much about all of that and just confused myself. Now that I have a Rhino in my garage, I am itching to wrench! I am like a kid on Christmas morning, other than I have to get up and go to work, LOL!

You gain top speed, acceleration, and more HP gets to the wheels. If you want more performance, it's the 1st mod you should make. It's good to do the CDI at the same time so you can run lighter weights to turn more rpms at any given speed.
I could type all day, and maybe you still won't understand. Best thing to do is call James (owner of JBS) and ask him all about it. He will know exactly what you need and tell you what it will do in your rhino. He can explain it to you better than anyone.

It makes the tires spin easier and you can run all locked up with out bogging the motor. I can keep up with the quads in our group. In the snow I can drive in high range and still make it. You get the g-force feeling when you gun it and from 0-10 mph in high range feels like low. In simple words Its [(AWESOME)]!!!

this is how it helped my 660 i assume yours is a 700. mine hit rev limiter at 38 mph when i got it, i got an msd charge cdi i could hit 48 but that was pushing it hard and was at the top of the rpm range. put bigger tires on back down to 40 added the (jbs sheave with orange spring and 14g ods, and the anti friction washers) holy chit hit 51 but i slowed down and in low i can spin the rears on blacktop. the rpm range is way lower i can hear my daughter with out her yelling. to sum it all up i got at least 15 mph at lower rpm range. thanks again james

To put it simple....more low end on take off, increased top speed, better engine breaking, lower RPM's at cruising speed, much smoother CVT operation.
The NEW 660 sheave is also built to allow for wear = years of fun !!!

How is the new 660 built to allow for wear? I thought it was just milled for the camplate?

HAHA The more You get to know James, The more You find out He always has done something He doesn't tell ! Just to dang modest.
He actually changed the way He mills them and added the new milling. If Your sheave were to start to wear on the middle shaft where the original milling was done(and it will) Your belt would start to rub the CVT cover, This would result in having to buy a new sheave. With the new mod, milled where the sliders were hitting, You gain just a little. This allows to mill less around the shaft, but still have the same overall result on low end. The difference being, its going to be that way a lot longer. Now I am talking about thousands of miles or very dirty / muddy conditions that cause a sheave to wear out !
Hope I explained this correctly and in a way it is understood !

Correction. If Your sheave starts to wear on the face of the sheave NOT around the shaft. Also, if You have a badly worn belt or fixed sheave !

Ok, good info. My 07 660 has 505 hrs and around 2500 miles. I was mistaken on the miles when I bought it, it was on trip (still would have bought it anyway, I thought it was 1400ish miles). So far, did all the normal stuff, oil (Rotella T6), diff oil, filter, took off and cleaned oil and rad, man there are some tight ass zerk fittings, checked bearings, etc. I have yet to get into the belt, sheave?, and clutch? area. To be honest a little scared, just that I have never ever worked on that type of transmission. I guess I will see the belt wear when I take cover off. What can I expect to pay for a set up, just ball park? Then to work on the wife on why I need it, lol. I am still concerned on the squeaks, rattles, and just sounds that I don't hear on my Honda, is this normal? I hate to be the new guy with all these questions, just let me get this sheave/belt thing figured out and I will leave yall alone.

Don't be afraid of doing the sheave, James has a bunch of videos to help you do all the work.

Really don't want to price it for JBS, But for just under $500 You can get complete JBS sheave kit with 700 belt, 700 camplate and secondary spring. You can buy it a part at a time (like I did) or sometimes, He has some used stuff.
Once You get in the CVT, You will be at home with it. Not bad at all and we are here to help.
Dont be afraid to ask all the question You want. That's what we are here for and we love it !!!

Good deal. Probably be part at a time for me, just dropping a little over 6k and then telling my wife I need more, won't fly for a while. I can always say the belt is about worn, which could be possible, and go that route. When I tear into her, can I clean or do anything to help it out with dropping some dough?

Get some Yama lube and clean it up and regrease. That will help a bunch. If its a660, I would recommend a CDI first anyway. And just have fun with it !!!

Well, taking a stock CVT apart and cleaning and re-greasing is a good thing to do if you have a lot of miles on it. You will also be able to spot anything that is going or has gone south. You will also gain the experience to be easily able to replace some of the components with state of the art goodies when the time comes.

Light bulb went off when I took cover off. Totally understand how this operates now, but I forgot to measure freaking belt, I just looked for cracks. Wished I had started it and watched it too. I did feel some slight groves/ridges in the top of both sheaves. I take it this is not normal? Mr. James can you pm some prices. CDI for sure and a basic setup on sheave, if that makes sense, no rush. I am guessing I send you mine and you do the magic?

That is cool. The sheaves should not have grooves, should they? I will tell you getting the cover off about pissed me off. I mean turning and twisting it to completely remove it. It was just dusty in there no big debris or anything, which is a good thing. Gonna watch weather and next big rain, I will have it off again and really inspect. Taking it to dealer next Sat to do spacers on rear (never been done), should I take off sway and keep it, or is it useless? I would think it hinder rear articulation.

I may take it off before I go, I heard they won't give it back and this place isn't the most customer friendly if you know what I mean. Test ride with and without it, with spacers.

With the sway bar in it's better on the high speed trails, roads etc. With it out you get noticeable body roll in these conditions but it isn't scary or un-nerving. When you are in tight, rough, uneven and muddy conditions it's way better with the bar out.
