| First of all let me say Thank You to Onebuilder for reminding me of this mod ! Thanks Steve ! For the 660 and I guess the 700 also, there is a huge weld inside the header pipe on the exhaust. This weld restricts the air flow, thus restricting power. The welds purpose is to hold the flange on the end of the header pipe. On mine I would guess this weld to be about an eighth of an inch. To help flow air You can grind this weld down. Some people ground it completely flat and then put a weld on the other end of the flange on the outside. Others, like myself, ground it down to almost flat and then round it off and polish. The results I have seen so far have been a touch more initial low end response and even more response in the mid throttle. This along with an exhaust tip, greatly improves the exhaust end of the Rhino. I feel like I am as close to and aftermarket exhaust as I can be without the noise. Factory welds....... After grinding........ I would suggest a die grinder and a metal bur wheel for grinding........ | |
