| When should you or when would you replace your stock coil with a Dynatek Coil? I am in the process of doing 734 BBK and bored throttlebody in the next week and wondering if or when I would need to look at upgrading my stock one or what benifits I would see from changing mine with my build. | |

| Its never to early to upgrade your coil, 30,000 volts Dynatek claims its the highest,DCK7-6 for the 700 and DCK7-5 for the 660, it works with stock or preformance engines, They say they're kits are designed to fit everything included. | |

Thanks Bert but whats that going to do for me performance wise and whats stock coil voltage output? I am clueless is why I am asking all this. | |

| The OEM voltage is not listed anywhere but the stock coil is 2 OHM's, and the Dynatek is 3 OHM's this to me means that a higher primary charge will build and when fired it and the field collapses there will be a higher high tension burst through the secondary side firing your plug with a stronger longer lasting spark. | |

| i have a dynatek coil along with nology wires and plugs on my bike. it supposedly gives a more efficient burn resulting in a slightly more efficient throttle response. without matching components (ignition, programmer, etc) however, i don't know if you'll see much of a performance increase out of just a high cap coil | |

| Well I did get me a Dynatek Performance Coil DCK7-6 for my rhino I had read some others online saying they noticed thier rhino started better after replacing the coil and I would have to agree with them mine fires right up first crank were most of the time it was always second crank. I can't say I notice anything other than that but I can hope that my burn is more efficient burn. It says it fits rhino up to 2010 but I did check and the stock coil is same part # all the way up to 2013 so I knew it would fit my 2012 if it fit the 2010. I did however have to modify the supplied bracket from Dynatek in order to make it work by notching out the corners and now it sits about a 1/4" from my CVT cover which is fine. It seems Yamaha changed the way the stock coil is mounted since 2010 by the mount being on the bottom side of the brace instead of the top side. I also pulled the stock plug wire cover sleave off since you reuse your spark plug boot and slide the old sleeve over the Dynatek new plug wire and then screwed the plug boot back on so the new wire will have some extra heat protection even though their instructions didn't say to reuse the wire cover. I also applied some dielectric greese to the coil output plug and the spark plug for good measure. " /> | |
