Looking for input on which might be overall better investment. I ride mountain back trails that are mostly not maintained. Some mud-holes lots of rocky, loose material conditions. Downed trees and brush. I've had good luck with lifts in the past but wonder if a mid-travel might give me what a lift has plus a better ride. I've never ran a long or mid travel kit so, am I missing something?

I personally would go mid travel because you end up with lift if that's what your after and less angle put to the CV's getting it.I love mine, more travel and clearance.I have 15.5" or belly clearance with 27.5 pittbulls.Lift is cheaper unless your talking big though.

Baxter,
I've seen your fab skills on here and other sites.  Do you make a mid or long travel kit?

Jason, So do you get the lift from shock placement on the A Arms from the mid travel? I have also read with the mid travel you can still run stock shocks, ball joints and steering and then upgrade your shocks ect... later? What make are you running? Anyone else running a mid travel?

I've ran the 2" lift and 3" arched a arms on my rhino. Have no trouble with either and rode very nice with the rhino sport shocks. With the mid travel, you will push your tires 3" out but also you will push them slightly down as well. Resulting in a lift of ground clearance. It will ride better cause of the better travel in the a arms.

I've considered doing this to achieve 4-6" of lift without putting to much angle on the axles. But I sold my rhino before I went extremely overboard with the spending.

Bottom line is, if your going to go mid travel, then make sure your trails are wide enough for you to fit. Your rhino will be 6" wider. Also, invest in heavy duty aftermarket spindles. I've heard stories of breaking them with the extra travel. I think if u can fit, you will enjoy the ride.

And yes, stock shocks will work on the mid travel. I suggest sport shock or t-Rex shocks. Less expensive for a used set and you will get great ride quality. Good luck

Banchee what are you getting now, T4.

Still researching. Trying to take rides on different machines. Price tags make me wanna thro up but I know since this is my only means of entertainment and my daughter loves it, I'll probably go over board with my purchase. But I'm in no rush. March next year will be the time I pull the trigger.

Sorry about your thread. But I know if you can fit and you have the coin, you will like mid travel.

I did the lsr mid travel on my rhino with stock sport shocks and lost ground clearance due to the extra leverage on the suspension or the springs where wore out not really sure  so I install teryx shocks but then had trouble with the rear axel sitting on the frame and I call my rhino a rabbit cause the way I ride 50% of the time in the air (lol) so I built a bracket to relocate the shock mount and bolted it to the shock mount on the a-arm (so it can be removed if I ever sell the kit) with the teryx sport shocks on all 4 corners mounted the right way even on the rear I gained about 3" of lift and the axel angles are about the same as stock best of all i'm still no wider then my buddies teryx

That sounds like the cheapest way to make it work, still about $2k.

Don't see anything but LT's on the site. But the pricing for just the a-arms looked pretty good. Got nothing but time on my hands for the suspension on the 700. I've got it torn down re-caging, and waiting for performance parts to come in. She'll be in a slow mood over-haul through the winter. Maybe I'll find a good use mid-travel.

Hard to find 700 mid travel. I looked for 6 months. Ever thought of just doing a shock upgrade? I know Chris did walker evens on his stock arms and he was extremely impressed. You can adjust those for a little lift.

Scott, Are you going to use the CFM lift with the mid-travel for more body lift?

With the LSR MTS do you need to get extensions for the brake lines, or did the kit come with them.

I am running a 2" cfm lift and offset wheels. I have no issue in the woods. I was wanting a LT kit real bad but I think its gonna give me more problems then its worth. eventually I will order a mid travel kit. I need to do something to hold the extra weight of the family cage , seat and kids. the stock shocks just aren't up for the challenge.

My 08/700 Special Edition have the 'Sport Shocks' which LS Racing says will work with there Mid-Travel, probably not as well as a $2600 set of shocks but I'm not doing the whoops out on the dunes. Want to get into the MTS as cheap as I can and still be happy with it.

Information for anyone thinking about a MTS. I'm just about to pull the trigger on a LSR MTS investment. Have thought about going w/CATVOS with 2" spacers, but can't get them to call me back and answer any questions. Anyway, know there are a couple guys on here thinking about the MTS and thought this was good info from someone that has tried both LTS & MTS. Cool

Hey Ken,

It will include everything you need to complete the installation and it is designed to work with the stock sport shocks.  Really a cool system.  I ran this myself on my Rhino before I sold it and I loved it.  I actually removed a +6" long Travel kit to install this and preferred it.  The car handled and cornered much better with the mid-travel opposed to LT.  There my not be as much travel, but the +6" turns the car into a square and square cars don't turn!  Additionally, the +6 was too much travel vs.

power and speed and made the car boring to drive.  The mid travel with the sport shocks is a great balance.

I'm refabbing the custom 2 seater cage off my 450 to put on the 700. Was looking at some heavier springs on CATVOS website but said they wouldn't work on the Rhino sport shock because of the res tank. I'm going to talk with iShock and see about dialing in the sport shocks, they said there able to make them work pretty well with LSR MT. I can feel the $$$ slipping out of my hand.
