Subject: Sheave installed today.. Thu May 02, 2013 9:54 pm
Got mine installed today but didn't have much time to test it out due to the cold ass temps and rain that moved in today. With two of us that weigh 260 I was able to do 52 on flat ground and 59 going down hill but that was on short roads and I am sure there is more there.
I have two questions. First question - What determines whether or not I need to switch out my secondary spring from factory. Second question - James are you still buying the factory sheaves that we pull out, mine has 200 miles on it.

Sounds like great results. If you have any lag after you get back to the gas while moving, or when you get to it on a steep hill, the secondary spring will help it backshift (downshift) alot faster to get in the higher rpms so it will pull better. It also grips the belt a little more.
I think I understand this right. If not, James will straighten me out.

Well I finally got to go out today and push on the Rhino and man does it run sooo much better. I was able to get 61mph out of it before I hit the rev limiter. I am pretty happy with that, now its time to make it get there faster.

I hit 62mph today with me and daughter both in there and wasn't in to the rev limiter. I'm guessing it has something to do with temps, we have went from 35 degrees to almost 90 degrees today and the Rhino likes it.

Oh yeah! Your Rhino runs better than any other stock bore/stroke/compression I have ever seen. Really, my buddy and I have identical Rhinos we got at the same time. His was always faster and had more torque than mine. Haha!
Mine must have been made on July 5, by a bunch of hungover assembly workers... LoL

So Chris does that mean I should be happy with it because I'm not I am going to do a cam and fuel controller between now and the JBS ride in October and then hopefully get to ride in some really fast ones to see which way I want to go with my motor or if I am going to make the jump to a true sport sxs.
I will try and get some some comparison's tomorrow with my speedometer and my gps to make sure everything is right. With me running 26's that 63mph should be 65+ on the gps.

hey thekevin, for the purpose of science, I'll compare my heavy shit to yours and then you can help me understand why my top speed is 54mph with wind on a perfect day and average day is 50-51mph. Granted you never know with motors, either way I cant wait to see more video.
Comparison... 2013 Rhino 700 SE Tactical Black.....2008 hunter green 700 14" Raceline Mamba true beadlocks......12' OEM steel 26" Maxxis Big Horn's....25'x8/10" OG Bighorns Dynatek CDI....MSD 2d Warn Pro Vantage 3500lb.....4 seater cage Gibson exhaust ceramic coated black....same JBS Sheave w/ 16gr od's...same with gold spring and anti friction washers Ricochet a-arm skids...Long travel +6 PRM bash plate...Pro-1 doors

It's a sickness, bro. Once upon a time, I had a stock Rhino but I wanted more. So I got a JBS sheave. Then, I wanted more so got the cam. Then I wanted more so I got the throttle body. Then I wanted more so I got the exhaust. Then I wanted more so I got the 734 big bore. Now I want more again and I am considering doing the ported head.
I have noticed that my speedometer with 26" Bighorn OG's reads very close to accurate. With the stock tires it was a little, err, optimistic.

I'm at the lake today but when I get home I will slap the gps in there and see what it says. Aspendell do you have a windshield in, I don't and I weight a light 260lbs so if we are adding up heavy shit that has to be considered
Chris I am hoping to ride in a 734 and decided that I will be happy with that because if I have to up to a 787 then my wife might divorce me.
Here is what my Rhino looks like right now.

I'm gonna start a new rumor that Tac Black Rhino's make 5 more hp than the other colors.
Sorry for the crappy video but this was my 9 year old daughter holding the gps and my phone to make the video. The speedo on the dash showed 62mph when it hit the rev limiter today and the gps showed 64mph.
