| I have a clutch that makes a knocking sound as it slows down and stops spinning. It's all stock. It sounds like the weights banging around. I took it apart and everything looks good, rollers are round, no wear on the sheave, added a bunch of Ultramatic grease like they come with from the factory, and it still knocks. Otherwise it preforms well. Anybody have any ideas?
I'll try to attach a video if I can figure out how.
Thanks | |

| mine does the same kind of thing (i think its the same thing) When i let off the gas it makes what i would call a "heavy rattle" doesnt sound like sheet metal or anything but like something much more substantial . | |

No, not hitting. Everything seems to be working smoothly. It sounds like maybe the weights are rolling in before the camplate does, allowing a little room for them to bang around. I'm checking the secondary spring next.

| Mine does the same but just one clunk every time I let off from full throttle. I figured it was just the sheaves slapping together.......... | |

Yea, a lot of them do it but they're not supposed to. I'm trying to figure out why. Secondary spring is within spec. cleaned, greased the secondary.....still doing it. What next?

Hmmm, Is it possible that one weight is hanging up? That would create the clearance for the remaining weights to rattle around.

I don't think so. I don't even have to rev it up enough for the primary sheave to move inward. Maybe one weight is heavier or lighter than the others? Guess I'll pull it apart, again.
Thanks for all the input.

| I found my knock on deceleration was the diff mount upper. Cleaver guy that sold it to me put jb weld in to take up the space. Simple drill out, pound a sleeve in. | |

| Why was it knocking when you revved it in neutral? | |

| I took the wet clutch out, checked everything, and reinstalled it. The knocking went away after that. I still don't know what it was but it's gone now. | |

| my rear diff comes loose everyother ride i lock tight it this time an seems to be holding so far is that a common thing for these? the mounts look a little cheap for holding a diff in place. | |
