I spent some time at both bases myself, all I could think of when I was at 29 Palms was, dang what a good place to ride a dirt bike, unfortunately I ended up walking (humping) a heavy pack all over the place, but on the bright side, we got to fire a lot of different weapons systems, everything live fire, that was a lot of fun.....
Hope he enjoyed his tour there...
