| Guys,I have another 660 in the shop.A perfect model to make a real fix for the 660 chassis flaw. What I haven't told you is my first 660 chassis diff mount/support mod was a total disaster.I wish I had pics of what we did but I don't.When his Rhino went problematic I basically fixed it the same way every diff support I've seen on the market does for support. The problem is he used the receiver box in the back of the chassis. He got stuck bad enough they jerked on it and the leverage applied from the receiver broke the extra bottom bosses off the differential. Then I went threw the hassle that I did on the last one you seen in here.My fix will not be as easy to install but if the mount is already damaged it will fix the issue.I'll update this tomorrow as I get further into it.I'm trying to make this as painless as possible but I can see now way around welding. This will however update it far and beyond the 700 chassis update from the 660 model that Yamaha did. | |

| It will be similar to the last one, minus cutting the factory mount out of it and using a jig.I'll post pics when I get back to the shop. | |

| Last piece of the puzzle going in the Rhino on the lift. I'll have diff mount/supports coming very soon. It's going very smooth in this Rhino considering the Rhino is pretty busted up.I'll have a drill bit ,as an option, in the kit. This 12" 7/16 drill bit makes it so you don't have to take the diff completely out.I'll make that your decision. The shop is filling up with these things. Lol | |

| I see what your saying James.I might try that on the next one.I put a support on the bottom of the last one after I jacked it back up straight. It wasn't very user friendly and wouldn't advise someone to loose their knuckles putting it in.lol The twisting motion that the factory mounts allow is what fatigues that back tube till it finally cracks. I looked at 2 more 660 Rhinos last night. One appeared to be fine the other the front mount on the rear diff. had a hairline crack in it.The one with a crack was bone stock and only had 1800 miles .I'm making it a point to look at as many of them I can find.He had a 3rd at his shop that we couldn't get to.I'll let him get caught up and go back at a later date. The guy I sold a kit to yesterday had one of the diff supports that bolted to the receiver box and it broke the boss off the diff.and ironically I found 2 places advertising the receiver style supports and claimed it's to avoid cracking of the aluminum diff housing.I've seen plenty of these Rhinos thrashed and trashed and have never seen the housing break unless it had a receiver mounted support on it.lol It's the sheet metal tabs holding the housing in that let's go.I'm not saying that the receiver mounted supports are junk by no means.Any extra support is better than none. I'm just saying there is a flaw there that could possibly make a mess. | |
