I'm not a welder nor do I have a welder. Looking for the 'layman' way? Any other suggestion? Do you think the pipe will get to hot?

| Mr G I dont think You will ever get it to stick without welding. If You have a muffler shop close, would not take them but a minute to do ! | |

If the cylindrical sleeve joint is deep and has only a little clearance it should work famously. The enemy of any glue bond is flexing and vibration. That flexing and vibration is hard on weld joints as well.
