| The slide cutaway is a cut away view of the carbs internals, to give you a better idea of how a carb actually flows fuel and air and how and were they mix together. It sounds like the numbers you found in the back of your manual is what the previous owner set the carb to after going to the 686 piston. You need to read the spark plug along with seat of the pants feel to get your carb tuned right. of coarse if you were to get an A/F ratio gauge installed it would make it alot easeier. Good luck. | |

Question for Ya. Does it only run that high when running hard, say above 20 to 30 mph ? | |

| There are a dozen things that could help, but the most important ones are probably SUPER clean radiator and proper fan function ! I hear the shrouds help a bunch too. | |

| If you spray down the radiator with diluted Aluminum brite it will clean it like brand new, The spot most often over looked is the area right behind the oil cooler. I now cut the metal hose and install a 4 inch rubber hose so the oil cooler can be moved out of the way to properly clean the Rad, It works great. | |

| After I installed my winch, I removed the metal radiator guard. This has totally changed the temp. of my machine. Now I can run WOT and not get over 190. It also allows for very easy radiator cleaning ! | |
