| Larry, thanks for the info. What was your idea of snorkeling? The "04 style"? I just did a quick temp job with my shop vac hose and loved the how it quieten it down. | |

I tried snorkeling several times but never got it to run right. Just run 04 style now and stay out of the deep !

right? It's the little snorkel tube that runs between the air box and the intake on the engine cover, just pull it off. "04 Style", you can close off the intake on the cover and reduce the motor noise also.

| Gotcha, clears it up. I hope to never get at azz level, so I should be good. I removed the little tube, but didn't block off intake on cover. | |

| Willy, Blocking off the intake on the cover will reduce heat coming into the cab area also, and noise. | |

| I will try that. Got a weekend of all rain, so I will tinker. What does everyone block it off with? I might have some black plastic that may work. Just cut to fit and silicone. | |

| Well, it might be nice when it's cold to have that hot air pumping into the cab area. What ever you think will work for you works best, Partner!! | |

| I've seen people just tape it off for a while to make sure it is what they want. If You like it. You can make it permanent. The only draw back I have seen to it is, Your air filter gets dirty faster. | |

| Larry, Do you feel that blocking off the cowl induction will make that much of a diff after removing the snorkel? I've noticed air moving out more than in. | |

| It helps a ton with noise by closing it off, but i think your intake probably gets a little cleaner air with it open. I've had mine closed off for a year now with no issues. Just dirty filter. | |

| Someone need to come up with a good mod that will push clean cool air to the airbox inlet. It will need to come from under the hood for it to be clean. | |

| Haven't tried the synthetic rope yet. Looks awful flimsy but is rated at 7700 lbs. Used steel cable 3 times and hated it all 3 times . HAHA | |

| Has anyone ever just relocated stock airbox to under the hood? Siphon break crank, leave short pipe from carb, flex duct to under hood, and place airbox there. It looks like it would fit. | |

| From what I've seen, adding any pipe or tubing anywhere on the carb causes tuning issues. There have been people successfully doing it, but it is tuff ! | |

| Not gonna snorkel, just 04 it and block/seal off inlet real good. Winter time unblock for a mini hand warmer. Heck, I am used to four wheelers so I will be in heaven in the rhino anyway. | |
