Check engine light and water

So I got my ride back from the garage yesterday, but I noticed on the first outting that the check engine light is coming on after we hit some decent puddles at speed. I assume something is just getting wet as it would go away after we stayed out of the water for a bit...is this normal? I don't remember it happening last year when we were playing in the water, thats why Im asking.

About the only way to find out what is turning on the check engine light is to go into self diagnostic mode while the light is still on and see what code it is showing.

how do I do that?

Press down and hold the two left side black swiches on the dash before turning on key, hold for about 8 sec, then when dash reads diagnostic, hold down buttons for another 2 sec. your then in diagnostic mode, scroll thru sensor numbers and # 61 shows how many you have and # 62 will go thru witch ones they are. to clear codes go to # 70 and engage 4 wheel drive button, then locker button, that will clear codes and you can start freash.
