| I havent touched anything but the main and pilot jet and the a/f screw. Its close now I just need to get a few areas cleaned up alittle. From what I was told thats the only three things I needed to mess with. And im not to carb savy.. | |

| if pull the top of the carb off and move the c-clip up one notch on the needle it should lean it out just a tad. | |

does the idle air screw richen it up the more turns out? Bumpers, If your talking about a/f screw on the bottom of the carb it will richen it up as it's turned out. I 've just went through tuning my carb and it was a learn experience for me. Best advice I was told is dial in the main and work down to idle being the last adjustment. That's also what seem to work the best on my bike. I also was using James's a/f meter for the tuning.

| I read articles that said start with the idle and work up, read one that said first thing start with the needle jet. I finally went back and started all over with the main and worked down and thing fell into place. I spent a good day where I felt I wasn't making any headway, that's when I said chit and started all over with the main. Good luck, it was a great learn experience for me and I now feel comfortable with it. One thing about a carb, you can't really mess it up, you can always go back to step one and start over. | |

| Yea I know what you mean on the main jet. Having that dialed in is key.. thats where you dont want to be lean or have issues. Ive got it pretty close I may step down to the next size and it should be spot on then I will fiddle with the idle and part throttle stuff and see if I can get it more stable. Right now at some points it dumps enough fuel where you can see a good puff of smoke but as soon as you get in the gas it leans up some and runs good. When I see the puffs of smoke the wideband is reading low 11s into the 10s. Its hard to see really but I know its goin way rich and I know at part throttle its gunna jump all over the place . But the little blips of the throttle is where it seems to richen up a lot | |

| Think I found my tuning issue .. I had some trash in my gas tank and there was some stuck in the pickup tube. Got it out and hopfully I got all the rest out of the tank I couldnt see anymore with the limited amount of veiw. I will see tomorrow if thats the problem.
The afr was different just about every time I made a pass due to not picking up enough fuel I suppose.. you can only make so many wot passes by a church on a wendsday night so I will continue more tomorrow

| New engine is great.. once I get the jetting dialed in it will be sweet. I cant wait to see how it runs once the fuel is dialed in.. it has way more power than it ever did before even running wayyy rich.. oh and I broke the driverside inner rear cv within 20 minutes of unloading lol | |
