| Alright guys...I had a chance to test out the Rhino again this weekend after putting the stock spring back on...things improved a little but still not where it should be imo...
Going from 40 to 49 is a little smoother now...but the slight stalling (like the rev limiter kicking in) is still there...though not as bad as it was before...and in a drag race from 0 to 40 my brother's stock Rhino is still winning by half a link...on the hill climb the low end did seem a little better but again not by much compared to the stock Rhino...from what everyone has said about the JBS sheave I think I should be getting far better results...
Now what do I do?...I hate to pull the wet clutch as I can't see this being the problem...my bike has 365 miles on the od and 65 hours on the time...still way too early for the wet clutch to be worn out under normal conditions...

Yes sir...18gr...and I held the cam plate tight the whole time installing to prevent weights from flipping...I also cleaned both sheave faces (pri & sec) really well with rubbing alcohol after install...so I don't think it's grease on the belt...

| James...does it sound like the results I'm getting now are correct?...is the increased low end there (ie why the stock rhino is ahead in the drag race because I'm geared a little lower) but I'm just unable to tell the difference under normal riding conditions?...most people make it out to be a night and day difference with the JBS sheave but I can't tell anything just driving around...I just want to make sure my sheave is machined correctly and is giving the correct results... | |

| it shouldnt be still hitting the limiter while accelerating..a stock bike should not outrun you... | |

| Yes sir...like I said before 0 to 40 is smooth...only from 40 to 49 it feels like it's hitting a little...and again the lower end (JBS sheave w/18g weights and stock spring) feels about the same as stock...if anything just a tad lower but no "wow" difference...what should I try or do next?... | |

I know it's Yamaha oil put in at the dealer...the bike was serviced right before I purchased it from the original owner...I can check the service ticket and see if it has the oil weight listed when I get home this evening...

| The oil on the invoice was "10W-40 MC Oil Drum" and they also replaced the spark plug...I'm running stock tires...is it possible the wet clutch is going bad with only 365 miles and 65 hours?...the original owner used this machine on his farm only...hauling feed to his cattle...no mudding or trail riding... | |

| If everything else is ok with the CVT sheaves, which it sounds like it is, then checking the wet clutch would be worth your time. Stranger things have happened. Seems like I remember a thread over on Highlifter where a guy bought a low-hours Rhino only to find out that the wet clutch was smoked.
I am sorry you are having issues. Hang in there man!

I am sorry you are having issues. Hang in there man! Thanks Chris!...I'll admit all of this is wearing a little heavy on me...I went with the Rhino after reading about so many people saying the JBS sheave does great things for it...now I'm hitting this wall and I'm left ...but yeah something is going down this weekend...I'm going to pull everything back apart and before going into the wet clutch my brother and I may swap primary sheaves...I'll see how his machine does with the JBS and mine with his factory...if I in turn beat him in the drag race this time then there is a sheave problem...if his machine does even better then I'll know for sure it's my bike and my next step will be checking the wet clutch... The sheave swap just seems like a faster check on things and may keep me from having to go into the wet clutch...if I do check the wet clutch is there any kind of gasket I'll need to buy/replace?...or is it just a matter of draining the oil and pulling the cover?...

| Thanks madmax 1...that "WOW" factor is what I need right now...without it I can't see the point of installing my new 28" Outlaws!...Also when I check the wet clutch...do I need to go back with Yamaha motor oil or can I use Castrol?...and if I can use Castrol do I stick with 10-40 or can I go with 20-50?...I ask about 20-50 because we used that in our Honda's to combat the Texas heat... | |

| Alright guys...I just got back from further testing...I said before that my brothers bike was a 2012...it's actually a 2013 (sry about that) with less than 20 miles...we put the JBS sheave in it (with the 18g weights) and his factory primary sheave in mine...both of us are still using the factory secondary spring... His bike did the exact same thing as mine did on the top end...from 40 to 49 it felt like the rev limiter was trying to kick in...also we drag raced again about a dozen times (switching bikes back and forth) and we either tied or he would edge me out by a nose from 0 to 40... Just to remind everyone that before when the JBS was in my bike the top end rev limiter issue was there and when drag racing he was beating me by half a link... I have not checked my wet clutch yet due to these results being so close together IMO with the JBS sheave in each of the bikes... James...does this mean it's a sheave issue or do I still need to check my wet clutch?...is there a chance I was sent a 660 or 450 sheave by mistake or would that even make a difference?... Please let me know what I need to do next... Both our bikes are 700's and both are running stock tires...mine is a 2009 and his a 2013...my bike is also about 100 lbs heavier as I have a steel skid plate and some other protection parts...not sure if 100 lbs matters... | |

I haven't said anything yet because I haven't had a chance to take it apart and look at it. Just wanted to inform you guys to. if I get a chance maybe I will take mine apart this week. 2009 rhino stock 18g od belt is in great condition

Thank you Dan for posting...I hate that you have the same problem but am glad I'm not in this boat alone...could it be just a bad batch of sheaves?...
