| No, I have not heard of this. Are you talking about an oil leak from the engine cases? I have had my grubby hands all over my 2011 Rhino and have not noticed any oil leaks. | |

| Looks like the 09 an oldet are better machines. Made in Japan versus USA. Hotrod found all balljionts loose on one. Now this. Quality control needs improvement. | |

| Last time I looked mine over it was nice and dry everywhere. Had the bad cv joint, but I'm sure I could have broke one on anything the way I have been pulling these hills at 40+ with the rear tires jumping up and down in these rocks at WOT. I did have the problem with the balljoints not fully seated. One of them was not tight at all. Seems like good parts just thrown together really quick. That's the american way now...dog the shit out of your employees, don't give them a raise, keep telling them how lucky they are because the economy is bad, and raise the rates of the work and act like dickheads. This is the end result, and it can get much worse.
They talk shit in meetings where I work about how safety is 1st, then quallity, then quantity. But, when it's 100 deg in the plant, they get rid of people who don't have 100% labor efficiency for the month. All these greedy bastards do is screw themselves in the end and they are to fkn stupid to even know it.
Sorry about that, back to the topic. How bad is it leaking? Is it just a dirty oil spot along the seam, or is it dripping? A very small amount of oil can look like a major leak.
If you trade it in, just don't trade it in on a Polaris. Been there done that.

| Dripping slowly. Enough to notice. Bad thing is it will be traded on a polaris. Down here, they are king now. We just mainly mud ride. Deep water. Deep mud. The lifts, travel, articulation are all there. Our trail riding is 5-10 mph. So high performance riding ain't important. Thanks for the help guys. | |

| Rzr XP would make a killer mud ride for sure. Lots of clearance, room for huge tires, and they have a ton of power. | |

the new XP 1000 has 18" rear shock travel, too. i'm gonna stick with the Rhino, though. 20K is too much for how i ride.

Yep $20k would pay for a lot of trips to w.v. for me,the ole rhino will go anywhere I need to go,after adding stuff to it for the last 5 years, ive just got it the way I want it and plan on keeping it till I cant get parts for it anymore.the rhino may not be the fastest or best riding in its stock form...but its the best built sxs there is and the cvt is the best clutch system of them all.nuff said

| oh, I do agree. My Rhino is built perfect, sound, and tough. But the type of riding I do, you can see the flaws in it for that style. If I was just on the trails, and hauling mail it would be perfect. Articulation is the key for Mud riding. The Ruts are getting worse every trip to where the rhino will high center cause of the lower ground clearance. And I have right at 16" of ground clearance... Way above stock. The RZR's we ride with have around 17" - 19". Easy for them to go thru those ruts.......
I hate to get rid of mine, but im looking hard at this new Viking right now. Just seen it with a set of 30's and im impressed. Only issue I have with the Viking, is the fact the air box is under the seat.... So much in a very wrong place. Im usually seat deep every single ride. That's not good. I don't understand why they didn't leave it under the hood. it was really set up good there...
I don't know what my next step is yet. But im sure there will be something new in my shop by next year... That's a promise

| Yea I see what your saying, the rhinos don't have much clearance for sure, what about the mavrics, how much clearance can u get with them?i don't ride a lot in deep mud or water because of the clearance issue. | |

| I intend to buy a 4-seater in a year or so. My little girl loves to ride, and soon she'll be big enough to go on real rides and not just trips into the pasture to check the cattle.
The Teryx4 is the perfect size for what I want. I'm hoping Yamaha will produce a similar SxS. We have had excellent luck with older Kawis like the Bayou 220 and 300, and we also have had great luck with our Prairie 300. But the newer V-Twins and clutches are still questionable.
Sorry for the hijack. I hear what you guys are saying.

| Chris, last time I was in w.v. me and James took a ride in a teryx4 and it rode great and it was not soo dang long like some of the 4 seaters,if I were to buy a 4 seater I think that would be my choice also, and you have a 2 cylinder engine that could be made to have a lot more horsepower if needed. | |
