| My dad stripped the threads on his front diff fill hole this weekend, can someone tell me the diameter and thread pitch of the bolt please, part # 90340-14029-00? I need to get the appropriate size drill and tap and new bolt, that are the closest next size up, if possible, after leaving work today to fix it for him. Unfortunately I will not be taking it apart to work on it, I'm going to drill it out, then with grease on the tap , tap it, while hoping the grease will catch and hold some of the shaving's, then have him flush it out a few times with some diesel or kerosene or similar before refilling it with oil. Any other tips to doing this? If I can't find an appropriate drill and tap that are close I may just helicoil it then. | |

| Sometimes they have self tapping replacement plugs for some of these things. I know they do it for oil pans. | |

| A helicoil would be best. Last longer. | |
