| since no one is posting here is something for you guys to look at. I generally shoot long distance 22lr the most. Normally between 250-300 yards (you are looking at about 23-24 feet of drop at that point). I have gone out to 460 yards before but the problem is the bullet destabilizes at about 330 yards when it comes back through the sound barrier....and its got about 33-35 feet of drop at that distance. Here is a video of me shooting at 250 yards. If you turn it up nice and loud you can hear the ring of the steel ....and yes i go 10 for 10 in the video. | |

| Sweet shooting! I'm no long distance shooter, but one of my guns is a Weihrauch hw50 airgun set up really nice. Had a full custom tune done throughout, trigger is sweet. Unfortunately it shoots much better than me :-( still trying to get the hang of airgun accuracy. I live in the city, and was trying to covertly take out some squirrels feeding in backyard around my new garden, hit a few, missed too many, and went to live trap instead. Got a total of 5 since Monday! | |

| Thanks...I have grown to like shooting 22lr at long distance more than shooting my larger guns that are purpose built for long range. It forces you to be a better shooter to compensate for a round that wasn't meant to do what you are asking it to do. a 30-06 isn't all that impressive to shoot well at 450 yards because its meant to go much further than that (they are good to 800-1000 yards). So you are basically using it at half its effective distance. Then on the flip side try shooting a 22lr at 350 yard and you are using it at about 3 times its effective range. plus the elements (wind, humidity and temp) are magnified on it because its such a light and slow round. So it makes you pay attention and read what nature is telling you. | |

| 22's are a blast to shoot no matter how far the target. My brother and a bud of mine go to matches almost every weekend. They only shoot 33 1/2 yards....that don't sound all that tough ; but , most times , if the center isn't completely gone ...you didn't win ! They're shooting $2-3k rifles with 36 pwr glass on top...some of the ammo they shoot , is 25-30 bucks a box (that's 50 rnds)...they try to get me to go all the time...between the harley , and the rhino ...I don't need another "hobby" ...lol | |
