Advice needed

Noticed gear oil leaking from around rear seal area of front diferential. Anyone had any experience with this? Is it common for the seals to give out after a length of time or is it more likely that a bearing is on its way out causing the seal to leak? Any advice/help is greatly appreciated.

My 06 doing same thing. I just ordered the seals from James.
I play a lot in mud and water so it takes a toll on seals.

Thanks for the reply! Looks like it will be a pain in the butt to pull differential out of chassis. I guess I will pull it and check everything out and order seals if that appears to be all I need.

Some times it's just the big nut behind the driveshaft none to work loose.... Red locktight it when you put it back together. That's what my 06 did.

Thank for the reply CamoRhino! I haven't had a chance to check anything out yet, but was just wondering if this was a common problem as the seals aged. I had it out at the hunting camp a couple of weeks ago and everything was okay. Did not notice any leakage on the ground or on the trailer after I got it home. Couple of days later though, and gear oil was on the garage floor and all around the rear seal. I will be sure to check the nut on the yoke collar. Thanks for the input.

The nut on mine came loose also, it was an 06 and I got the seal from James. I am starting to see a pattern .... I think James has something to do with it!!
