| Hello all, Sorry its been a while since my last post. Weather is really nice and the spring surge to move dirt has hit...also have some other stuff going on. Anyhow I've made a little progress only to have to back up. When I cut the axles for length, I figured when the suspension compressed it would push the axle in. I should have went ahead and removed the spring and cycled the suspension, but, I was pretty confident I was right. Well, it turns out that the axle doesn't move in and out much at all as the suspension cycles. So, even though the axles would have worked at the length I cut them, the CV balls would have been running on the outside lip of the cup making them extremely week. I fixed the rear by deleting the sway bar and dropping the diff down. This also removed some of the angle from the CV's. On the front, the axles will have to be cut apart and a new sleeve built. I think I'm about to drive my machinist up the wall. lol I did get coolant lines ran. I will post pics of them later on. I'm glad they are very malleable as I had to re-bend several times to get them right. I finished mounting the turbo and wrapped my header. I posted some pics of a little trick I tried that seemed to work well. I have wrapped exhaust before only to have the wrap eventually loosen up and slide down off the pipes. So, I got some really small tig rods and tig'd them to the pipes. These little barbs gave the wrap something to adhere to. Once wrapped, I took a small hammer and either battered the ends of the barbs or bent them over. It was a little time consuming, but, I believe the time here will pay off on the trail. I also got the exhaust pipe fabbed up and will be wrapping it to at least past the plastic belt cover. Here are some pics. Enjoy..... | |

| Question on the deletion of the sway bar. James gave me the idea and said it was part of a factory recall. If this were yours, would you re-mount the sway bar or would you just leave it off? We work this thing more than we sport it and I'm wondering if it will go around a side of a hill with a full load of fire wood like it used to? | |

| Is your front a custom install? or a kit?
The Polaris is mounted to the back of the frame stiffeners between the top and bottom frame rails. I could put the rhino sway bar back on like the Polaris, but, if I don't need it why go to the work?

| Ok James. Thanks for the reply. I will probably just have to wait and see whats best for my application. Do you still have the safety belts? I still need 'em if you are interested.
Customized Rhino 13,
Haven't had it running yet. I am wait'n on some special order boost hoses. I need Jame's friend to take a trip to Illinois for me. LOL I am going to try and get everything bolted up tonight and put some water to it. Hopefully I'll have no leaks. Yea, couldn't possibly have a diesel without some sorta custom tip. lol
By the way, I sold the engine yesterday to a fella from Masontown. I still have the diffs I need to get rid of. The front is like a new one but the rear is the only stock piece that has survived the life of the Rhino.
I also spoke with my pump guy the other day. The engine that made 123HP was fitted with a deutz pump. I may have to get bigger tips on the injectors to get to the 60HP goal. I'd like to stay away from a big dollar pump if I can.

| Hello all. She's finally alive. I'm still waiting on the boost hoses. However, I used some old radiator hose and fab'd up a temporary setup. We turned the fuel screw out 4 full turns. It went from 2 lbs boost on stock fuel to 7 lbs with the 4 turns out. I'm anxious to get it beside a stock Rhino to see how she fares. I'm gonna go ahead and order larger injector tips and I think I'll stop at that point. EGT's have not gone above 600. I'm not sure how much these little engines will stand. I don't think I'm gonna be able to get to the original 60hp mark with this injection pump. Maybe later down the road I'll spring for a better pump, but for now, if she'll stay with a stock Rhino I'll be happy.
