| forgot about the valkyries. they were real groundpounders. yeah, i remember the 900s as well as the 500s and 400s triples. first time i rode a 400 the front wheel came off the ground at about 5000 rpm and i just hung on. what a rush. | |

| hell I had a year of saving $$$ for parts an don't doubt that I have three times your hours , but on the chain loose are you on the oil pump chain, my oil pump chain was loose also did not see diff in the new one . also I still have my 76 KZ 900 in the barn wish it looked as good as yours mine has the z1 top end and in the day was a fun little ride, make me want to start another project, but back to your project check your middle drive support don't know if its like the 660 ifso might upgrade while your in that deep | |

| are you talking oil pump gear& chain if so quadog all over it , if you talking cam chain I think I gave 60.00 I think been awhile I found billit middle gear support for 100.00 again i think good luck on it | |

| I hear ya! Can't believe all the work that needs to be done because a c-clip slid over. For me it was a bleesing because the the 4 bolts that hold the final gear drive backed out and were floating around the engine. May want to check them. I know they have backed out on others also and put a hole in the case. Just think your not quite half way yet. | |

| I would check your middle drive support housing while your there if Yamaha has not fixed the pot metal crap that was in mine I would get the billit middle support , the pot metal known for braking an taking out a lot more in the bottom end .... just my thought while you got it apart | |
